Last week we began worship with:
He says, “In a favorable time I listened to you, and in a day of salvation I have helped you.” Behold, now is the favorable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Paul is quoting Isaiah 49:8-26, where Isaiah is told to remind Israel of the God’s covenant love for them.

Thus says the Lord:
“In a time of favor I have answered you;
in a day of salvation I have helped you;
I will keep you and give you
as a covenant to the people,
to establish the land,
to apportion the desolate heritages,
The Lord here speaks in both past and future tense. God’s decision in eternity past sovereignly determines our present. God’s past tense is always our present, so Paul can confidently declare that today is the day of salvation. Enjoy His favor.
